Representation

The opening scene of the movie shows a young married couple. The husband is a Formula 1 driver, which represents ambition, danger, and a fast-paced life. The wife is at home making coffee, which shows a calmer and more peaceful role. This creates a clear contrast between how they live. This representation is somewhat common because the man is shown doing something exciting and risky, while the woman is in a more traditional home role. However, the film also challenges this idea through the wife’s emotions. Instead of being just a background character, she becomes the main focus of the scene. When she gets a phone call from Chris telling her about her husband’s crash, we see her shock and denial. This gives her character more depth and shows she is more than just a supporting role. It shows real emotions like sadness, disbelief, and loss. A strong visual moment is when the phone drops in slow motion as she begins to cry. This shows her emotional breakdown and helps the audience und...

Peer reviews of initial draft

For my movie opener, I received feedback from Group 1 and Group 2 about the technical features. Group 1 explained that the   sound quality   of the microphone should be improved, the lighting should be more dim, and the   shot duration   needs to be longer. Group 2 also said the shots seemed rushed, the sound quality needs improvement, the lighting should be more dim, and the camera movement was too erratic. To improve the sound quality, I will make the audio clearer and remove background noise while filming or editing. To improve the lighting, I will use   low-key lighting   to create a darker scene and a stronger mood. I will also increase the length of the shots to improve the pacing and help the audience follow the action more easily. To reduce the erratic camera movement, I will keep the camera steady and plan smoother shots.
